Operational Alert’s, inform Signal Mutual Members of serious incidents or a significant near-miss within the Mutual. If you have similar operations, please share this Operational Alert with operation managers, supervisors, equipment operators, and all affected employees. It is imperative that management, at all levels review their operations for similar hazardous conditions, acts, and their controls.
Across the Mutual this JUNE, there have been 6 serious Slip/Trip/Fall-related injuries.
Beyond the obvious hardship these employees and their families will endure while the injured employee recovers, in every case, a simple, cost-effective solution was implementable. Spending a few minutes to effectively plan the work, gaining input from employees, and mitigating risk would have been a fraction of the time and cost that each of these businesses will now incur to deal with these potentially life-altering injuries.
