Bert Iams

Bert was hired in July 2022 to lead Signal’s newly formed GovCon unit. In this role he has responsibility for leading the development and growth of Signal's Defense Base Act (DBA) offering, servicing the unique needs of our government contracting clients. Prior to Signal, Bert worked at AIG from 2006-2022, most recently serving as their Head of DBA. Bert has over 27 years of commercial insurance experience, with a broad understanding of property casualty insurance including DBA and workers’ compensation. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University where he double majored in mathematics and engineering.

Candice Gainer

Candice was hired in October 2022 to serve as a practice leader for Signal’s newly formed GovCon unit. In this role, she has responsibility for leading the development and oversight of claims operations related to Signal's government contracting clients. Prior to joining Signal, Candice worked for JAG International as their Global Claim Director and was also a Field Claim Director and International Account Manager at AIG. In these roles, Candice was responsible for all major client claims interactions along with oversight of the claims process for Defense Base Act and Foreign Voluntary Compensation business. Candice has over 18 years of Federal Workers Compensation claims experience and is currently a Board Member of the Longshore Claims Association.
