With effect from October 1, 2019 State Act policies under the Companion Program are offered through Nationwide Insurance Company (National Casualty Insurance Company, AM Best A+XV). Nationwide’s appetite to maintain the concurrent and reimbursable claim cooperation between the State Act and Federal Longshore Act coverages, while preserving the current adjuster network, was key in their selection. A majority of the Signal Membership utilizes this facility to cover its State Act exposures; the close coordination of claims handling with the Longshore provider offers many benefits, particularly in concurrent jurisdiction states.
