Heat Stress Information

As summer approaches, please take a few minutes to review the information below on heat stress and share it with your team.

Each year in the United States, extreme heat and humidity contribute to dozens of worker fatalities and thousands of heat-related illnesses. This highlights the importance of increasing awareness of these risks and reinforcing simple, effective prevention measures. Please review the information below to help protect yourself and your team.

Operational Alert: Warming Up To Heat Awareness

Heat and humidity create serious health risks for workers. Every year in the U.S., dozens of workers die and thousands more become ill due to hot or humid working conditions. Many of these incidents occur during the first few days of exposure, particularly among new employees, workers returning after time away, or those who are not heat-acclimatized, including workers with underlying health conditions. Regular reminders and early intervention are critical to preventing heat‑related illness.
