The SMIA Safety Committee and Signal Safety Team have created a library of topics for Safety Meetings, or Toolbox Talks called Focus on Safety
Doing the simple things right, every shift, is what prevents serious injuries and keeps people safe. Most incidents don’t happen because people don’t care or don’t know what to do. They happen when we get comfortable, rush the job, or aren’t prepared to adapt to changing conditions. Back to basics is about slowing down just enough to do simple things right, every task, every shift.
