  • Initial contact with a claimant will be by phone or in person.
  • Verbal consent is required before initiating text communications.
  • Only approved tools and devices may be used by Signal employees for texting.
  • Each text message will include an opt-out option ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe").
  • If a claimant replies "Stop", a confirmation will be sent, and no further texts will be sent.
  • A claimant may later opt back in by texting "Join".
  • Signal will never share or use a claimant’s phone number for third-party marketing.

Data Security

We employ a combination of physical, technical, and procedural safeguards to protect personal data from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. This includes secure data storage, controlled access, authentication procedures, and routine security audits.

Claimant Rights

Claimants’ rights regarding their data are governed by the LHWCA and applicable federal administrative laws, including the Administrative Procedure Act and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
