The SMIA Safety Committee and Signal Safety Team have created a library of topics for Safety Meetings, or Toolbox Talks called Focus on Safety
Many Members use contractors to perform on-site activities. Contractors are typically considered independent, meaning their work hours and recordable injuries are not included in the Member’s OSHA log. However, if the Member is directly supervising and directing the contractor’s employees, such as those from a temporary labor service or staffing agency, this could change.
