The SMIA Safety Committee and Signal Safety Team have created a library of topics for Safety Meetings, or Toolbox Talks called Focus on Safety
The transportation and temporary storage of hazardous materials poses significant hazards to personnel and increases the risk of business interruption in the maritime industry. Improper storage temperatures or mixing of incompatible cargo has the potential to result in fires, explosions, release of toxic gases or consumption of oxygen, and damage to the environment.
