Suspended personnel platforms provide a means of accessing work areas at heights when conventional means of access are not safe or practical and have applications for maintenance, construction, or to access cargo where ship or portable ladders expose personnel to a greater risk of falling.
Ensuring that the personnel perform the work safely and without incident requires specific safety measures in accordance with ASME B30.23 Personnel Lifting Systems or OSHA 29 CFR §1926.1431 Hoisting Personnel.
