Struck-by injuries occur from violent contact or impact between an object or piece of equipment and a person. Struck-by injuries can be fatal, and even when a worker is not seriously injured, these incidents can result in days off work to recover. Occupational struck-by incidents caused 150 deaths and 14,000 nonfatal injuries in 2020 across the United States.
